Art you don't just look at, art you move through: Inside Victoria Fard's MOMENTUM at AMNC26

The traditional event and gallery model is fundamentally broken. Passive viewing leads to dead dwell time, low engagement, and zero first-party data capture for organizers. To capture the attention of high-level attendees, you cannot just show them something; you must immerse them in it.

At the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC26) in Dalian, multidisciplinary artist Victoria Fard shattered the limitations of physical space with her latest installation, "MOMENTUM". Created in partnership with the World Economic Forum and Augmento, MOMENTUM is an immersive, interactive world that invites visitors to step inside and participate.

The concept: A digital sanctuary of stillness and motion

Inspired by the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse, MOMENTUM is a meditation on renewal, transformation, and purposeful movement. It draws on these cultural symbols as a call to begin again with energy, discipline, and intent. Guided by the element of fire, its vibrant red palette embodies not only passion and courage but also the driving force of transformation itself.

The work unfolds as a spatial and perceptual progression around you, adapting with every step so that your physical presence becomes part of the piece. In this sense, MOMENTUM acts as a mediation between intention and action, translating cultural symbolism into an embodied experience, an immersive narrative of movement, transformation, and shared prosperity.

The engine: High-fidelity spatial computing

Executing a vision of this magnitude requires flawless infrastructure. To deliver the highest fidelity interactive experience possible, MOMENTUM was deployed through a dedicated Augmento iPad application.

By utilizing a custom iPad app, the platform seamlessly tracks the physical environment to deploy complex 3D formats (GLTF/GLB/USDZ) in real-scale, ensuring smooth performance, stunning visual quality, and highly accurate spatial mapping.

Drawing on a background in architecture, computational design, digital fabrication, and large-scale 3D printing, Fard uses algorithmic processes and emerging technologies to build immersive worlds through a combination of system-driven generation and artistic direction. Within MOMENTUM, visitors enter a dynamic world inhabited by FLORIS - algorithmically generated floral forms that grow and evolve over time.

The surface: Transforming audiences into co-creators

Interactive flowers and plants respond to presence. The dynamic environment includes:

  • Majestic horses rearing up dynamically and standing powerfully amidst the tall grass.

  • Floating lanterns and drifting clouds.

  • Butterflies that gather around participants.

This creates an environment that unfolds through exploration and interaction.

The experience is accompanied by an energetic soundscape that gives the atmosphere a vibrant pulse.

Participants are not only viewers: they are part of the story. Using the iPad, they can choose elements and place them into their surroundings, contributing to the world as they move through it. MOMENTUM is structured as a journey, and physical movement mirrors its inner narrative.

The result? Total immersion.

Stop renting your audience, start owning them

Whether you are an event director trying to eliminate dead dwell time, a real estate developer selling off-plan to international buyers, or an artist breaking the physical limits of a gallery, spatial computing is the answer.
