What is the core concept behind Adalberto Lonardi's Foshan Tales?
Foshan Tales was conceived as a cross-cultural dialogue bridging Italian architectural expression with Chinese cultural heritage. Utilizing a contemporary stained-glass cathedral language, the physical steel and glass structure elevates everyday traditions into a visual narrative. The installation features four distinct colored glass mosaics, which include the Chinese Tea Ceremony (representing the family gathering and Confucian ideal of jia), Cantonese Opera, the Dragon Boat Race, and the Lion Dance.
